This hotel is great. It is new, clean, modern and the rooms are well equipped and designed with everything you need. The showers are fantastic, there are USB ports by the bed, the TV is large with lots of channels, the room was always cleaned and was well maintained and it has a nice atmosphere. The breakfast is pretty good too! The best thing about this hotel though is the location! We were a little surprised when we found out that it didn’t have its own restaurant but… it doesn’t need it! the location of Selfoss is great and there are so many lovely places to eat nearby at great prices. we highly recommend the Old Dairy Farm as we ate here every night of our trip because of its easy-going, street food style restaurants where there is loads to choose from. Also it’s a fabulous place to start a Golden Circle trip adventure. This really was our best stay in Iceland and would love to come back!

The location was perfect for exploring the area and for walking out to get dinner in the evening. The staff (reception, breakfast, and cleaning personnel were) friendly and helpful. They gave thoughtful advice. On our last evening the receptionist made sure we knew about the ‘end of Christmas’ Santa Claus procession, which was a great way to end our visit. The breakfast was very nice with many options. We met in the breakfast area in the evening to play games as a family, and in addition to free coffee, cocoa and tea there, we could buy drinks and crisps from reception. Three of us booked time at the spa and it was very relaxing. Our decision to stay at this hotel was very last minute because road conditions made our original cabin difficult to access. We were all very pleased with the hotel!

The breakfast was OK. It had enough diversity and it was all delicious. The room was very comfortable and the bed was wide and cozy. Selfoss is located about an hour from every important tourist sight in southern Iceland, so it was pretty good to not have to travel a lot every day. One thing I really likes is the 5 charging stations for EVs, free for use by the hotel guests. We took a PHEV car rental and it saved us a lot of time and money. Another pretty awesome thing was the daily refill of coffee and tea in the room. Did not use the coffee, but the team was awesome and allowed us to prepare some every morning for our thermos before leaving to roam Iceland :)

All good - except the coffee at breakfast which was bad. Comfy modern rooms with good blackout curtains for the light nights. The choice at breakfast was mostly good though eclectic (past and carrots!) and it was a little busy. Selfoss has a few nice places to eat out just a few minutes walk from the hotel, and is a good location. Good communication from the hotel. Parking either at the back or on the street outside.

We arrived quite late, so didn't have time to explore all the hotel facilities, but we had a warm welcome at reception and as there is no restaurant, we were directed to a great food hall 5 minutes walk away. In general the hotel is modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with warm food options. Easy free parking on the street outside.
